You may use VowThread to:

• Plan a wedding or celebration, including budgets, guest lists and a wedding website.
• Find, enquire with and book event vendors, such as venues, photographers, caterers, decorators and planners.
• Pay booking deposits and balances for services listed on VowThread.
• Send and receive genuine gifts for a couple's wedding or celebration.
• As a vendor, list and sell event services that you provide yourself.

Vendors may only list lawful event services they deliver themselves. These are not allowed:

• Illegal goods or services: anything that breaks Nigerian law, including drugs, weapons, ammunition and explosives.
• Adult or harmful services: sexual services, escort services or adult content.
• Gambling and money services: betting, lotteries, loans, investments, cryptocurrency, foreign exchange, savings schemes or any service that moves money for others.
• Counterfeit or stolen items: fake designer goods, pirated content, or items that infringe someone else's rights.
• Misleading listings: photos, reviews, prices or credentials that aren't your own or aren't true.
• Services unrelated to events: anything that isn't an event or wedding service is outside what VowThread is for.

• Off-platform payments: vendors must not ask couples who found them on VowThread to pay outside VowThread to avoid our fees or protections.
• Fake or test bookings: bookings, deposits or gifts made to move money rather than to pay for a real service or give a real gift.
• Gift misuse: wedding gift pages are for gifts to the couple. They must not be used to collect payment for goods or services, run a business, raise funds for unrelated causes or receive money from unlawful sources.
• Other people's cards or accounts: paying with a card or bank account you aren't allowed to use, or receiving payouts into an account that isn't yours.
• Money laundering and fraud: any attempt to hide where money came from, or to deceive a couple, guest, vendor, VowThread or a payment provider.
• Chargeback abuse: disputing a card payment with your bank for a service you received or a gift you meant to send.

• Give accurate information about yourself and your business, including your identity documents and bank details.
• Use only your own bank account for payouts. The account name must match your verified identity or registered business.
• Vendors: deliver the services you are paid for, as described in your package, and honour your cancellation terms.
• Treat couples, guests, vendors and our team with respect. Harassment, threats, hate speech and spam are not allowed.
• Don't copy, scrape, overload or try to break into VowThread or other people's accounts.
• Follow Nigerian law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act when you handle other people's personal details.

To keep VowThread safe, we:

• Review every vendor profile before it is shown to couples.
• Require vendors to verify their identity (NIN or BVN, a photo of their ID and a selfie) before their first payout, and couples to do the same before withdrawing larger gift amounts.
• Confirm the bank account name with the bank before any payout.
• Hold booking payments until the vendor confirms the booking and the job is done, and hold funds while a dispute is open.
• Monitor payments and payouts for unusual activity.

If we believe this policy has been broken, we may, depending on how serious it is:

• Remove content: take down a listing, review, photo or wedding website.
• Hold or refund money: pause payouts while we investigate, and refund payments to the people who made them.
• Restrict accounts: suspend or close the account, and refuse future sign-ups.
• Report: share information with our payment providers, law enforcement or regulators where the law requires or allows it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
